Here are some valuable tips to keep in mind if you’re looking to make juicing a regular part of your diet

  • A Big ‘NO’ to all kinds of packed Juices

It’s best to avoid packed juices as they often contain added sugars and preservatives. Freshly squeezed juices retain more nutrients and are free from artificial additives.

  • Fruit Juices are not suitable for adults

While fruit juices can be delicious, they can cause a spike in your sugar levels due to their natural sugar content. Try to incorporate more vegetable-based juices into your routine to keep your sugar levels in check.

  • Aim for a 90:10 Ratio

When making your own juices, aim to include a higher proportion of vegetables (90%) and a smaller amount of fruit (10%). This helps to minimize the sugar content while still adding a hint of natural sweetness.

  • Consume Fresh Juices                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Freshly prepared juices are at their nutritional peak, so it’s best to avoid consuming stale or old juices. Juices are meant to be consumed soon after preparation to ensure that you benefit from their full nutritional value.

Don’t add Salt, Sugar or Ice to your juices

  • When it comes to enjoying fresh juices, simplicity is key. Avoid the temptation to enhance your juices with salt, sugar, or ice. These additives not only mask the natural flavors of the fruits and vegetables but also detract from their nutritional integrity.

            Why?

  • Salt: Adding salt to your juices can increase your sodium intake, which may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain health conditions like high blood pressure.
  • Sugar: While fruits already contain natural sugars, adding extra sugar can lead to unnecessary spikes in blood sugar levels.
  • Ice: While adding ice may seem like a refreshing idea, it can dilute the nutrient content of your juices and potentially disrupt digestion by shocking your system with extreme cold.

By following these guidelines, you can make juicing a healthy and enjoyable addition to your daily routine while reaping the maximum nutritional benefits from your homemade juices which are not only delicious but brimming with essential minerals and vitamins that will help you stay healthy and rejuvenated during Navratri.
